As therapists, we are often attuned to the dynamics of the Karpman Drama Triangle—the Victim, Persecutor, and Rescuer—as they play out interpersonally with our clients.
But these roles are not only relational—they are also intrapersonal, embedded within the client’s internal system, shaping their self-concept, internal dialogue, and coping strategies.
In this 6 hour immersive, experiential psychodrama workshop you will learn how to help clients identify, understand, and shift the internalized roles of the Karpman Drama Triangle that often operate unconsciously and contribute to patterns of inner conflict, shame, emotional reactivity, and relational dysfunction. Psychodrama is a powerful tool that can be used to cultivate a deeper understanding of internal and external roles and relationships. Discover how to utilize psychodrama interventions to break the triangle within. Help clients transform these roles to cultivate a more empowered sense of self.
Objective 1: Attendees will be able to describe the basic theoretical constructs of psychodrama intervention and theory through the context of working with the Karpman Drama Triangle.
Objective 2: Attendees will be able to integrate and implement psychodramatic techniques/interventions such as warm-ups, role reversal, and doubling into sessions with clients both individually and in groups.
Objective 3: Attendees will explore their own relationship patterns by gaining a deeper understanding of how the Drama Triangle operates intrapsychically through the use of sociometric tools, experiential activity, and group psychodrama
